A marathon runner channeling Terry Fox as inspiration has made his way to Thunder Bay.
Ryan Keeping was escorted by police into the city and has been following in Fox’s footsteps in a journey across Canada to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
It’s a cause near to Keeping as many in his family have been impacted by heart issues.
He began his journey from the Fox memorial in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 1 and has raised nearly $95,000 so far.
Keeping often runs with a Canadian flag draped over his back while proudly displaying his Terry Fox t-shirt.
The stop in Thunder Bay is an emotional one as it’s where Fox was forced to end his journey in 1980.
A rally is being held at the Terry Fox Lookout in on Tuesday morning to celebrate the milestone.
