The RCMP is concerned about drug use in the fishing industry in Nova Scotia. Some fisherman use hard drugs such as cocaine to cope with long hours and heavy debt loads.
Officers conduct patrols within 22 kilometres of the coasts, but they don’t do random searches of fishing boats.

A man’s name has been released who died in a motorcycle crash in the Valley last week. 23 year old Brogan Gunn was a volunteer firefighter who is being remembered as compassionate and easy going. He was the only person involved in the crash that happened on highway 1 in Belleisle.
Federal Transport Minister, Marc Garneau, has announced that the Windsor Street exchange is set to get a major overhaul. The federal government will pay half of the bill, $47.5 million.
Drivers will see the Bedford Highway realigned, upgrades to Lady Hammond Road and new street lights.
