Alex Tanguay the Mooseheads fan favourite will be an assistant coach with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, they are the farm team for the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
Alex is 39 now and visited Halifax back in May for a pregame Memorial Cup ceremonial puck drop.
“Tangs” played 15 seasons in the NHL, skating with the Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning and Arizona Coyotes.
In those 15 seasons, Tanguay recorded 863 points (283g, 580a) in 1088 regular season games and added 59 points (19g, 40a) in 98 Stanley Cup Playoff contests.
