So of course I had to talk to him to find out more. You can not only hear our chat, but see the video of his find below.
Here is Sean’s story…
“Guys, it happened. I’ve had friends joke with me about finding a gun underwater some day, and that day has come. This past weekend I went snorkelling under the overpass in Fall River between Lake Fletcher and Lake Thomas. I was shocked to see the outline of what I believe is a single barrelled shotgun sitting at the bottom. I called the RCMP and a super kind officer came out to take a look. He eased my concern by assuring me I didn’t interfere with any potential evidence by handling it since it’s been in water for at least a couple decades and is covered in rust, so any potential fingerprints would be long gone. They’ll be sending it to Ottawa for forensics to make sure it wasn’t a part of any crimes and I’ll hear back in a few months. As we parted ways, the officer joked that if I keep this up we might be seeing more of each other. Be careful out there. You never know what you’ll stumble across!”
