Tough news if you enjoyed cooling off in the Halifax Common pool.
It will be closed for the rest of the summer due to repairs.
Now free swims will offered at Needham Pool and at the YMCA of Greater Halifax on Sackville Street.
Free swims will be available at Needham Pool at the following times:
Monday through Friday from July 26 until September 3: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Residents must register in advance over the phone at 902-490-4633 or online at
halifax.ca/myREC.
In partnership with the YMCA, Greater Halifax (5640 Sackville Street), free swims will also available at the at the following times:
Monday, August 2: 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from August 4 until September: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Centennial Pool
Work on the Centennial Pool is ongoing. The pool is expected to reopen in September.
