Seniors needing some yard work are being taken by a bogus Truro-based landscaping company.
Residents have reported they paid deposits for M.M. Property Specialists to do work on their property, but once the money was handed over the business would ghost them.
The scammers posts ads on Facebook buy and sell pages trying to lure people in to securing their “services” for lawn mowing, cleaning up flower beds etc.
They even offer a 25 per cent discount for seniors and referrals but a $250-$400 deposit is needed to secure a date for its services.
When the scammers get the cash, they don’t respond to messages.
The Better Business Bureau says it tried contacting them but has received no response from the company and has determined it is not a registered business in Nova Scotia.
