Halifax setting a new record for heat as scorching temperatures cause the thermometer digits to soar.
The record to beat at the Halifax airport was 29.8 degrees, which was set 29 years ago.
Environment Canada is reporting the thermometer climbed to 30.9 on Wednesday.
All of mainland Nova Scotia remains under a heat warning.
Temperatures will feel close to 40 again on Thursday, so we could break another record.
We won’t feel relief from the heat until Friday night.
