This past Saturday I was lucky to announce my 1,000th Halifax Mooseheads game.
It all started on Friday, September 20th, 1997, to be here 25 seasons later has been quite a thrill.
Over the years I’ve been fortunate to witness Halifax Mooseheads history unfold and make lifelong friends with the players, fans and staff.
From this past Thanksgiving weekend, I want to say thanks to the Halifax Mooseheads organization, players, fans and my family: My wife Roxanne and sons Drake and Trent for making my 1,000th game a memorable one.
Game 1,000 was to happen back on March 20th, 2021, but COVID-19 had other ideas.
Over the years I have missed a few my son’s hockey games and tournaments growing up and a few family functions along the way too, so thanks for letting me go to the rink!
Here’s the pregame video the team surprised me with getting greetings from former Mooseheads players Patty Kyte and 2013 Memorial Cup Champions Trey Lewis and Zach Fucale, and my family.
Here are some pictures from Saturday.
(Left to right at top: addressing the Mooseheads fans, my family joined me in the booth at ice level showing off my Mr. 1,000 Bobblehead, the players presenting me with the game puck after the 2-0 win, the crystal microphone the Mooseheads gave me, the game puck and watch from my family, I was totally surprised.)
Here’s to the climb to 1,500 and who knows, maybe even 2,000!
Thanks Moose Country to Go Moose Go!
