Tim Houston: from Facebook
The premier is apologizing for making a comment in the legislature that suggested people making minimum wage don’t have real jobs.
It happened during an exchange in question period on Thursday when Tim Houston was being asked about the provinces $12.95 minimum wage.
“I don’t know many Nova Scotians that grow up thinking, boy, I hope I make minimum wage when I grow up…they want real jobs.”
Houston has since clarified his comments and stated they were made in the heat of the moment.
However, NDP Leader Gary Burrill is calling the comments degrading as they continue to push for $15 minimum wage.
