Some peace of mind if your kids have been waking up with the sniffles.
The province is expanding its “Test to Protect” program to help increase access to COVID-19 testing for kids and detect new cases early.
Volunteers are needed to assemble 260,000 kits.
“Within the next few weeks, private schools, licensed and unlicensed daycares, families with children at home, and homeschooling families with children ages 3 to 11 will be offered nose swab testing kits as part of an expansion of the program,” a provincial news release says. “Each package will contain four take-home rapid COVID-19 tests with a set of instructions.”
Public schools will offer additional kits to students in pre-primary through Grade 6 after sending them home with tests earlier in the school year.
Each package will include two take-home rapid COVID-19 tests.
More details will be announced this week regarding local pick-up spots and the additional rollout in schools.
