Relief for drivers in northern Cape Breton who have been taking a three-hour detour since last month’s flooding.
The section of the Cabot Trail between Ingonish and Neils Harbour that was washed out during the messy fall storm will reopen on Tuesday.
Parks Canada reported the area was hit with 270 mm of rain, which rendered the 15-kilometre stretch impassable.
It says one lane will open up to traffic at 2 p.m.
However, delays are expected due to ongoing roadwork.
