Moose Country will be represented at the World Juniors with Halifax Mooseheads Captain Elliott Desnoyers being named to Canada’s World Junior roster last night!
He has watched the holiday season tournament since he was a little boy and this is a dream come true for him to wear the Team Canada jersey to represent Canada and Moose Country on the World stage.
The 19-year-old Philadelphia Flyers prospect from St-Hyacinthe, QC has had a remarkable season in Halifax with 36 points in 23 games by scoring 16 goals and adding 20 assists.
Elliott follows in the path of former Mooseheads Justin Barron, Zach Fucale, Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin and more to represent our city and province.
Hockey Canada will now shift their training camp to Banff, AB beginning tomorrow, December 14th.
Canada’s World Junior team will battle Switzerland in pre-tournament competition this Sunday, December 19th.
The World Juniors start for real Boxing Day when Canada plays the Czech Republic in Edmonton at 8pm Atlantic time.
