School is back after an extended holiday break, but it’s going virtual.
Students and teachers are heading to their laptops for zoom meetings on Monday.
They’re learning from home this week due to the surge of COVID-19 cases. Schools will remain open for students who use learning centres.
The province says the move will also provide additional time to make ventilation upgrades and secure more masking and rapid tests.
Over the weekend, Nova Scotia reported almost 2,000 new COVID-19 cases. That’s an estimate as Public Health is no longer confirming rapid tests with PCR tests.
Students are set to return to the classroom next Monday.
