Rocker Meat Loaf has passed away at the age of 74.
His family confirmed the news on Facebook early Friday morning.
The singer’s “Bat Out Of Hell” album remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends,” the Facebook post says.
Meat Loaf was also an actor, appearing in many films throughout his career including “Fight Club”, “Focus”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Wayne’s World.”
The tributes are pouring in for the singer. Cher worked with him on the hit “Dead Ringer for Love.” She says in a Tweet, they had so much fun together.

His family is asking for privacy at this time. No details have been released on the cause of his death.
“From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking,” the Facebook statement says.
