If your house is like mine, it’s pulling teeth trying to get anything out of your kids about how their school day was.
I’ve found that all it takes is the right question.
Instead of asking, did you have a good day? Ask, what made you laugh at school today? Or, How did you help someone?
Now my little guys, at 6 and 4, are pretty good story tellers, so you may have to sift through some of what they feed you, but you will still get a better response than…”it was fine.”
