One of the most famous bands EVER had to be one that nobody really knew the name of. It was the orchestra that famously played on as the end loomed near on Titanic.
One of it’s members was a 21 year old violinist by the name of Jack Hume. Pictured bottom left.
He left behind a young pregnant fiance and is buried here in Halifax among 120 other Titanic victims. His father was sent the bill for his band uniform that was never paid for. He declined to pay it.
Jack Hume is in plot 193 at the Fairview Lawn Cemetary.
