If you’re in need of a hot meal this Easter, a local charity wants to help.
Souls Harbour Rescue Mission in Halifax says it will be offering a sit-down meal for the first time since the pandemic hit.
The drop-in centre on Cunard Street expects to provide a three-course turkey dinner to more than 250 people in need.
“Spring reminds us of new beginnings. Hope for a better future,” CEO Michelle Porter says in a news release. “This meal is our way of giving people hope and a sense of community.”
The charity also hands out gifts called “Hope Totes.”
Souls Harbour says donations make a big difference as each meal costs the charity about $5.
The Easter meal will be offered from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.
Donations can be made online.
