A 54-year-old man is facing firearms offences after an assault in the city on the weekend
Halifax Regional Police were called to a home on Castle Hill Drive, off Kearney Lake Road, at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Police say a man threatened and assaulted another man he knew with a firearm.
The suspect was arrested and the home was searched with five guns and ammunition seized.
Phillip Andrew Levy is facing the following charges: assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, pointing a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, careless use of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and five counts of possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized.
Levy was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday.
