The leader onboard HMCS Halifax has been relieved of his duties.
The Department of Defence indicates the temporary move was made so they could investigate several incidents on the ship while in Poland.
Commander Dale St. Croix will take on other duties while the investigation takes place. He took command of the ship in July of last year.
The military did not going into detail about what they are looking into but did say it does not involve sexual misconduct.
In the meantime, Paul Mountford has assumed command of the ship.
The frigate began a six-month deployment to Europe on March 17 as part of NATO’s Operation Reassurance.
HMCS Halifax will be back in July.
