I’m always on the hunt for some good economical fun for my little boys, Milo and Mason who are 4 and 6.
This past weekend we took a drive to 12 Wing Shearwater.
I knew there was the aviation museum there…which is fine, but, my goal was to do an outdoor activity as both of the boys are getting over colds, so I wanted to avoid those dirty looks because of my kids hacking it up at an indoor place.
The museum is STILL temporarily closed due to Covid 19, but has some aircraft outside that is pretty cool to check out… AND it costs nothing but the gas to get there.
Bonus…you can drive right up to them, let the kids out and let ’em loose. Run free amongst history.
Just behind the wing sign, there are 2 planes and a sea king helicopter that you can go right up to…even touch them if ya wanna.
I’m not certain of how long they have been there, but they aren’t seen on site if you look at google maps, which is 1-3 years or more.
