A Portuguese Man of War has been spotted at a beach outside Halifax.
Clam Harbour Beach had one of the colorful jelly-fish-like critters wash up Monday.
Another Man of war was found at Martinique Beach on Aug. 19.
The Department of Natural Resources confirmed the sighting to our newsroom in an email.
However, the department doesn’t keep record of sightings and they weren’t able to say how many have been seen this season.
If you see one of the creatures, avoid touching it, a spokesperson for the department said, as they have painful stings.
If you do get stung by one, they say don’t rub it. Instead, rinse with vinegar.
Rubbing can make the stings worse.
