The 42nd Annual Terry Fox Run for cancer research takes place this Sunday at Point Pleasant Park, lower parking lot.
The run is open to everyone!
Our son Trent is a cancer survivor of a Wilms’ tumor which is children’s kidney cancer.
He was diagnosed at four months and lost his right kidney due to the tumor that was the size of a lemon.
Trent’s tumor was sent from the IWK here in Halifax to a lab in Vancouver to be diagnosed and the project funded by money raised from the Terry Fox Foundation.
The study revealed that if a child with the same diagnosis today would no longer have to go through chemo therapy and that removal of the tumor would be sufficient.
So something good came out of something bad. Trent is now 23 and six feet tall!
Here are a few pictures with my family over the years at the Halifax Terry Fox runs.
(Pictures above between 2004 and 2010 Terry fox Runs including meeting Darrell Fox, Terry’s brother.)
Registration starts at 9 am with the opening ceremonies start at 10am Official run starts shortly after.
I’ll be your MC for the run and it’s so great to be back “In Person” this year!
