My niece Stephanie and I recently made a double shot blood donation together.
For me it was O negative donation number 46 and for Steph it was her 3rd at Canadian Blood Services on Bayers Road in Halifax.
She was inspired to start to give blood after her Uncle Doug, my brother-in-law, lost his cancer battle to leukemia a year ago this month.

Cancer patients depend on blood donations and each donation, that takes less than an hour to make, can save three lives.
Whether it’s your first or your 1,000th – every donation counts!
Canadian Blood Services say they currently have the smallest number of regular blood donors they’ve had in a decade—31,000 fewer than before the COVID-19 pandemic and need people across Canada to help ensure patients’ needs are met.
So, if you could please make a blood donation sometime, that would be cool.
