Cole Harbour is busy hosting the 40th annual Joe Lamontagne March Break hockey tournament at Cole Harbour Place starting Saturday.
This year the tournament returns to full capacity after being cancelled in 2020 & 2021 due to COVID-19.
Last year, the 2022 Tournament had limited capacity for fans , so it’ll be great to hear Cole Harbour Place rockin’ again!
For those who have attended the tournament in the past, you know one of the highlights is always the Sidney Crosby Shootout! All players will receive a momento from the Crosby family.
Many high profile players have played in The Joe including Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Joe Dipenta, Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell and many more.
Below is my son Drake, he and his TASA Ducks Pee Wee AAA team took part in The Joe in 2006.
One game, he forgot his skates at home, that was a fast trip from Cole Harbour to Timberlea and back! Great memories.
(Ian’s Son Drake age 11 playing for TASA above in 2006 at The Joe. Today, he is a Level 5 Referee in the AUS, MHL and other Hockey Nova Scotia high performance leagues.)
Hi to my pal Jeff MacPhee and the volunteers making “The Joe” happen!
To hear more about the tournament check out Justin Belanger, former Halifax Moosehead and NHL Stanley Cup Champion, Joe Dipenta and Jeff on the High Button Sports podcast.
