About the event…
“Founder Matthew Gordon, a 15 yr old High school student started this society, with the support of his family, in 2022 to honor his late father Ken Gordon who believed in giving second chances.
The Ken Gordon Society is about spreading kindness, and compassion through the work with men experiencing homelessness in HRM.
The lives of these men can offten be complicated with mental wellness needs and addictions, in which Matthew hopes to address through education, counseling, employment & life skills-instilling their self-worth and when possible unite them with family members to make amends.
This facility will not only take care of the men in these ways but as well give back to the community. Tenants will take part in working here; raise garden beds for food, chickens for eggs/meat and composting with more to follow with guidance from community voluteers and stake holders.
This is the first of many fundraiser/live auction with guest auctioneer Russell MacKenzie from 103.5fm, there will be a 50/50 draw and a cash bar.
Auction items can be paid by CASH, E-TRANSFER OR CHEQUE.”
