Morgan Wallen revealed quite the transformation at his performance this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. He showed up on stage with not entirely a “new do” but more of a “no do” where he revealed he “didn’t like [his] long hair anymore so [he] shaved it off.”
In 2019, blog site Dazed Digital explored the phenomenon of drastic appearance changes after significant life events. Rebecca Newman, a psychotherapist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, says “When we’re going through a period of transition that is particularly painful, we tend to make decisions that provide immediate relief. This can stem from the feeling of wanting to rid ourselves of intense or difficult emotions, causing us to make rash decisions such as impulsive purchases or getting a major haircut. In this way, making a change to our physical appearance can feel akin to shedding a layer of skin in which we assume we will feel immediately better after the act.”
Morgan has previously expressed that his iconic style was an ode to his father who rocked a mullet before him. This begs the question … Morgan, are you okay?
