Nova Scotia Radio and TV legend Frank Cameron has hung up the headphones and retired.
Frank announced his retirement last week at 84 years of age and 67 years in the business!
Most recently he could be heard on Seaside-FM in Eastern Passage, the local community station that ran a tribute show last week with greetings from those who worked with Frank over the decades. I was lucky to be asked to share some Frank memories.

As a kid growing up in Cape Breton I watched Frank on CBC TV, so it was pretty cool to get to work with him at Oldies 96/CHNS in the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
I couldn’t believe it, I was working with “thee” Frank Cameron!
There are many memories of our long chats, somedays, not much work got done. But, man we had fun!
Frank wrote a book several years ago about his career and some of those stories he told me.

(Above: At the radio Kids Christmas Party in 2002. My son Drake was 7 andΒ other son Trent was 3. Drake said “That wasn’t the REAL Santa Dad, that was Frank…”
What a career Frank has had spanning over 60 years in radio and TV here in Nova Scotia.
We’re gonna miss you on the air buddy.
Frank taught us a few things along the way, like: it’s “zero” not “owe” – “owe” is a letter, “zero” is a number and it’s “kill-owe-meter” not “kill-omm-maw-ter.”
Thanks for blazing the trail, for the laughs, memories and for always being “Frank!” ππ€π»
