Last year you may have received an email or a message through TD easyweb regarding a class action law suit. TD Canada Trust is involved in a $15.9 million lawsuit which could mean a pay out for TD customers across Canada.
The law firm of Koskie Minsky and TD Bank say they “are pleased to announce a proposed settlement of the ongoing class action regarding non-sufficient funds fees.”
TD has had a history of charging multiple NSF fees on a single cheque issued or payment made. A proposed settlement was made last August, and a hearing will be held on Feb. 13 where the court will decide whether to approve said settlement.
Best of all, the only action you – the client – has to take is if you want to opt out, you must do so through through the website before January 26th, otherwise, if you were a victim of double charging NSF fees, you will automatically receive a portion pending the result of the settlement.
