Among the Football hype as of late, a certain Pop Diva announced a sequel to her recently renowned album. The horse on the cover of Beyonce’s Renaissance could have been a hint towards the direction in which this project was headed as she dons a silver cowboy hat dripping in crystals in the visualizer for the brand new 16 Carriages. Texas Hold ‘Em carries on that roots sound opening up with the southern sound of guitar and banjo.
The Texas native has been topping pop charts since her Destiny’s Child days, and as the lyrics go in her hit Formation,
| My Daddy Alabama, Momma Louisiana
It’s more of a surprise she hasn’t leaned into that Country influence until now.
She has yet to reveal what the rest of the album could sound like or what’s in store beyond Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages as her Superbowl ad revolves around “breaking the internet” and it begs the question whether or not there is any truth behind any of it. BeyoncAI, BOTUS, the first woman launching the first space flight to the first space performance….. either way I’m here for it. And I am definitely here for Beyonce’s Country music era.
Both 16 Carriages and Texas Hold Em are out now, Renaissance II will be released March 29.
