A New Minas man is dead after crashing his motorcycle.
RCMP say they saw the bike, a Kawasaki ZX 1000, speed past while they enforced traffic on Middle Dyke Road.
“Officers were not in a position to safely attempt a traffic stop and lost sight of the motorcycle,” according to a news release from RCMP.
Officers lost sight of the bike, but they got a call soon after that the bike had crashed.
Police and bystanders gave the man first aid.
But when the 35-year-old man arrived in hospital, he was pronounced dead.
Middle Dyke Road was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
A collision reconstructionist was on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
