A 51-year-old Nova Scotia man is facing numerous charges after threats against police officers in Beaver Bank.
On September 26, RCMP went to a Sherri Lane home where they found a man in breach of conditions.
When officers told the man he was under arrest, he fled into his home nearby and grabbed a bat.
He then reportedly began threatening the officers.
Police say they made several attempts to subdue and arrest him, including using a stun gun, before finally taking him into custody.
The man and two officers were injured during the incident.
The Beaver Bank man is charged with:
- Assaulting a Peace Officer (two counts)
- Assaulting a Peace Officer with a Weapon (three counts)
- Uttering Threats
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Resist Arrest
- Mischief
- Criminal Harassment
- Causing Disturbance (two counts)
- Failure to Comply with a Release Order (two counts)
He appeared in court this week and remains in custody with another court date set for October.
