“The officer immediately exited his vehicle and rescued the driver from the vehicle that collided with the police car.”
The officer and lone occupant of the police vehicle was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
The driver and lone occupant of the Honda CRV was also transported to the hospital by EHS. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Highway 107 was closed for several hours as the collision remained under investigation.
Police remind motorists that emergency vehicles have the right of way when their flashing lights have been activated.
If you see an emergency vehicle pulled over with its lights flashing, slow down to 60 km/h or obey the posted speed limit if it is lower than 60 km/h.
