Congratulations to former Halifax Mooseheads star Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche who last night has reached 1000 career NHL points!
Nate becomes the first former Mooseheads player to ever do so.
He reached point 1000 in a 3-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks with a pair of assists last night on home ice in Denver, Colorado.

Nathan now leads the NHL in points with 102 points with 26 goals and 75 assists.

There is three Nova Scotians in the NHL 1000 plus points club including former Mooseheads owner Bobby Smith, born in North Sydney, Cape Breton with 1036, Port Hood, Cape Breton’s Al MacInnes with 1,274 and Nate’s fellow Cole Harbour buddy Sidney Crosby currently with 1,664 and counting as of today, March 11, 2025.
