After a couple of huge wins in Drummondville last weekend to begin the QMJHL playoffs, your Halifax Mooseheads play Game 3 here tonight in Moose Country!
Halifax defeated the Voltigeurs on Friday 3-2 with Tantallon’s Quinn Kennedy getting the winner in that one for 1st Star in Quebec.
Then on Saturday Liam Kilfoil got the overtime winner to beat the highly touted Volts 3-2 again.
Veteran goal Jacob Steinman of the Herd took 1st Star there with 45 saves.
The Quebec media predicted a sweep by the Drummondville team in four games.
The Volts are the defending QMJHL Champions led by Bridgewater, Nova Scotia’s Luke Woodworth.
There will be about seventy-five family and friends in the rink for the Halifax games cheering on Luke.
Halifax is the youngest team in the QMJHL in fifty years carrying no 19-year-olds on their roster and dressing 11 rookies per game.
Game 4 is Wednesday night with Game 5, if necessary, is this Friday, April 4th.
So tonight is a chance for Halifax to push Drummondville to the brink of elimination.
If you recall last season, Halifax was pegged to go deep in the playoffs and were swept by Bathurst in Round 1.
It’s the playoffs, so anything can happen.
Go Moose Go and I’ll see ya at the rink!
