An unconscious victim was saved from a fire in downtown Halifax, in the early morning hours on Thursday.
Halifax Professional Fire Fighters say they responded to an alarm around 3 a.m., on Duke Street.
After they arrived, the call was upgraded to a structure fire.
There was heavy smoke, but when searching the building, they found the victim who was treated at the scene until paramedics arrived.
The fire was then brought under control.
The union says, “We treat every alarm like the real thing – because often, it is. Alarm systems work. Staffing matters. Seconds matter.”
Meanwhile… fire crews also attended to an overturned cement truck Thursday morning on Duke Street, but this one was in Lower Sackville.
