A 23-year-old man is facing charges after attempting to rob a Halifax Walmart.
Police say it happened Monday around 5:15 p.m. on Mumford Road.
A man entered the store, began to steal items, then assaulted and threw the items at a security guard when they tried to stop him.
The security guard had some injuries, but the suspect ran away and got on a Halifax Transit bus.
About five minutes later, he was arrested.
The man will appear in court Tuesday to face charges of robbery and breach of probation.
