It will be the first event of its kind in the region.
The Inverness County Centre for the Arts is announcing the inaugural Inverness Sea Glass Festival.
In a press release, the Centre says the festival will showcase the “stunning works of art and jewelry crafted from naturally weathered sea glass found along Cape Breton’s shores.”
It will feature local and regional artists, workshops, educational talks about the history of sea glass as well as activities for the kids.
The Centre says this “unique celebration of coastal creativity and natural beauty promises to enchant art lovers, beachcombers, families and friends.”
Guest speakers include:
Mike Baran, a professional beachcomber, who has recovered some “unbelievable” artifacts along the shores of Cape Breton.
Meaghan Landry, a lifelong beachcomber, and licensed sea glass photographer will share her expert tips and tricks how to “beautifully” capture sea glass on your phone.
The festival will be Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Inverness County Centre for Arts.
