Two motorcycles and a car, who witnesses describe as racing each other, caused two separate collisions on Main Street in Dartmouth.
Police say it was Saturday around 4 p.m. when the car involved, rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped in traffic.
The car briefly drove off until the driver got out and ran away.
Police were not able to find them.
Just minutes later, one of the motorcycles hit a car on Main Street near Brigadoon Avenue.
Both drivers were hurt and taken to hospital.
The roadway was shut down for a few hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
