The Halifax Waterfront will be buzzing wtih activity for Canada Day.
You could build a Lego Canadian flag at the Pier 21 Museum of Immigration. Holdfast Bricks is hosting a “make and take” event while supplies last, starting at 9:30 a.m. They’ll also be working to build a giant Canadian flag with 20,000 Lego bricks throughout the day.
Admission is also free to the Halifax Citadel and George’s Island national historic sites as part of the Canada Strong Pass.
Tuesday is the final day of the Tattoo Festival, ending in the Canada Day parade. It starts at 10 a.m.
Visit the Halifax Commons for free swimming, children’s games and bouncy castles from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Also at 11 a.m., you can find an Indigenous Vendor Market at the Sackville Landing. Vendors will have a variety of handcrafted goods, artwork, jewelry and more.
At 2 p.m., the Halifax Beer Garden will host a hot dog eating contest.
Some local comics artists from the Foghorn Comics Collective will be doing caricatures on the waterfront between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to raise money for the Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival.
You can also watch the Halifax Wanderers soccer team play at 4 p.m.
At the Sackville Landing, the Atlantic Breaking Alliance will host a dance battle from 4 to 6 p.m.
You can end your night with a half-an-hour of fireworks starting at 10 p.m.
