A 17-year-old boy has been found guilty of manslaughter in the stabbing death of a teen at a Halifax mall parking garage.
Sixteen-year-old Ahmad Al Marrach was stabbed in April 2024, then later died in hospital.
Nova Scotia’s Public Prosecution Service says this is the charge the Crown indicated it was pursuing rather than second degree murder.
The boy, in addition to three other teens, all whose identities are protected under a publication ban, were initially charged with second degree murder.
A boy, 14-years-old at the time, pleaded guilty to that charge
A girl, 14-years-old at the time and another boy, 16-years-old at the time, have each pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
