Cape Breton Police say it was Saturday afternoon when they got the call that a boy with autism had escaped through a kitchen window in New Waterford.
It was shortly after 2 p.m. when they found his body.
Raising funds
To help raise funds for the funeral, an Eskasoni councillor has created a 50/50 raffle.
In a post on social media, Sophia Basque says she knew his family personally and her heart goes out to them during this unimaginable time.
“As a parent of a child with autism myself, this loss hits very close to home. We autism parents must stand together and support one another in times of need,” says the post.
