A conservative political activist was shot and killed at an event at Utah Valley University, in the United States, Wednesday.
He was 31.
Charlie Kirk was the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA – a right-wing, grassroots movement.
Videos on social media show it happened when Kirk was speaking into a microphone at the university’s courtyard.
On his truth social, President Donald Trump offered his condolences.
“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” reads Trump’s post. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now he is no longer with us.”
In his memory, Trump has ordered all American flags in the U.S. to be lowered to half-mast until 6 p.m., Sunday.
