The suspected shooter of Charlie Kirk is now in custody.
In a press conference Friday morning, Utah law officials said it is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Charlie Kirk was the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA – a right-wing, grassroots movement.
The 31-year-old died after he was shot in the neck at an event at Utah Valley University in the United States, Wednesday.
Footage shows a potential shooter on the roof of a nearby building running away after the gunshot.
Spencer Cox, Governor of Utah, had this message for young people.
“Your generation has an opportunity to build a culture that is very different than what we are suffering through right now. Not by pretending differences don’t matter, but by embracing our differences and having those hard conversations,” said Cox.
Cox said they received about 11,000 tips.
The investigation is ongoing.
