Three people were injured, including one who was airlifted to a Halifax hospital with serious injuries, following a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning on a busy highway in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
Police say four vehicles were involved in the collision on Grand Lake Road.
Three of the vehicles sustained significant damage.
The crash forced the closure of Grand Lake Road between the Mayflower Mall and Gardiner Road for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigators worked at the scene.
The highway has since reopened to traffic.
Police say the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
