On Saturday night the Halifax Mooseheads paid tribute to the Halifax Citadels the Amercian Hockkey League team that called Halifax home between 1988 and 1993.
For “90’s Night” the Mooseheads wore Citadels blue, red and white jerseys that were the NHL Quebec Nordiques colours with 90’s music, old graphics and some classic TV commercials played on the big vintage video scoreboard screen.
Special guests included the original CJ The Bird mascot with 71 year young Frank Kirby still getting the crowd of 6,225 pumped up!
Also Citadels Anthem Singer Donna Marilyn MacDonald returned to sing O Canada!
Here are a few pics:

(Moose win, goal announcement, Ian reps Citadels colours and make the final on the vintage scoreboard.)
When the “Halifax Mooseheads Citadels” scored “No One Takes The Fort” the Citadels theme song was played!
The Mooseheads won 5-4 in overtime to send the nostalgic crowd home happy beating the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
For me as a big Citadels fan in the stands back in the day, it was a night to remember here in Moose Country!
