Your green bin will soon go back to being collected every second week.
HRM says the last day of weekly collections is Friday, September 29 and bi-weekly rotations start Monday, October 2.
The city allows collection every week through the summer months of July, August and September.
To get the most out of your green cart with the least amount of hassle, consider the following tips:
- Place wet food waste in boxboard, or wrap using one sheet of newspaper, before placing in your green cart
- Place your green cart curbside each collection day, even if it isn’t full
- Line both your mini-bin and green cart with a paper bag
HRM says you should have your green bin at the side of the road before 7am.
