Happy 40th Anniversary in Halifax Broadcasting to Steve Murphy at CTV!
Steve has been delivering the top stories of the day since 1980 when he moved here to Halifax from Saint John where he worked in radio in high school.
My wife Roxanne and I have known Steve for 32 of those 40 years and are proud to call him a friend.
Roxanne is the Executive Director for Christmas Daddies at CTV where Steve has been the anchor of the telethon for decades, it’s a part of his huge commitment to the community and viewers.
People always ask me “What’s Steve Murphy like?” Well along with being one of the best broadcasters in Canada and a true professional, he’s also a down to earth guy and a great family man.
Here’s the Phony Friday call we did on Steve in 2017:
Congrats on a remarkable milestone and thanks for being at the supper table every night Steve.
Here’s to many more years “from your colleagues on both sides of the radio!”
