There will be 60 homes in total, to provide housing for roughly 70 people.
In addition to a rough over their heads, the province says wraparound supports will be on hand to help residents with employment and more permanent housing.
The project is a collaboration between the provincial and municipal governments, The Shaw Group and Dexter Construction.
The province spent $9.4 million in the fall of 2023 for construction and will provide $935,000 every year for operating costs.
