A long time MLA and former cabinet minister will not run again.
Kelly Regan announced on Friday she will not be on the ballot for the Liberals when the next election is called.
“I want to thank my constituents of the three districts I’ve served in Bedford for your steadfast support over the past 15 years.” said Regan.
She was first elected in 2009 and also held the deputy premier role while in government.
“I owe so much to former Premier Stephen McNeil for convincing me to run and then challenging me with significant roles in opposition and cabinet.” – Kelly Regan
She will stay on as the MLA for Bedford Basin until an election is called.
Nova Scotia has fixed election dates with the next scheduled for July 2025. However, there is speculation a vote may be called earlier.
“Thank you for giving me this opportunity to serve you in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. It has been my great great honour.” added Regan.
