It could be a close race for mayor and several council seats in the Halifax municipal election on Saturday.
There are three front runners for mayor: former Liberal MP Andy Fillmore and two form city councillors, Waye Mason and Pam Lovelace.
Polls initially showed Fillmore had a large lead on the other two, but a more recent poll from Narrative Research and released through the Halifax Chamber of Commerce shows Waye Mason had gained significant ground.
Five councillors, including Mason and Lovelace, won’t reoffer in the election.
There’s a lot of competition for the open spots in Halifax Peninsula North, Bedford, Hammonds Plains, St. Margarets, and downtown Halifax.
Voting takes place between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
We will have all the results on our website after the polls close Saturday night and tune in Sunday morning to Hot Country 1035 and Surge 105 for complete coverage, highlights and reaction from your community.
